Psalm 91 in art (more)

Psalm 91 was the subject of a post from March 2020 when the Covid19 pandemic threatened us all. Much of the threat was based on fear, the fear for the future, the fear for our children’s future, simply the fear of the unknown. Four years on I recently removed the image from that post and have decided to look at another work of art celebrating this beautiful psalm.

I have chosen Mark Lawrence’s Under His Wings this time. The unity of this beautiful painting and serenity of form gives comfort when all around seems broken. In Mark’s words ‘prayer art paintings are inspired by Bible verses that offer encouragement, strength, and knowledge of our identity in Jesus Christ’. You can see Mark’s work by clicking the link.

While I was composing this blog post I also came across the digital works of Mandie Manzano from Miami and her Psalm 91 impression. Her work can be found at The Diamond Art Club. Utilising digital works is unusual for me so I hope you enjoy.

Whether your faith is in humanity or a spiritual God the words of Psalm 91 assures us that we are not alone in our struggles.
